How it started...
My name is Luke Alexander, I started “The Big Three” earlier this year and could not of imagined the amount of support it would gain.
I’ve always had a passion for helping people & love a good challenge, so one day I decided to ask a couple of mates if they would like to walk from Sydney to Newcastle to watch the footy and raise some awareness & funds for charity.
What started with three, quickly became many more! With the help of a lot of amazing people, we managed to raise over $106,000, with our goal originally being was $5,000!
After the success of that walk, I knew I wanted to do more and for another special cause - The McGrath Foundation! I’ve always admired the amazing work they do, the McGrath Nurses are incredible. So, once again I asked a couple of mates if they would be interested & they didn’t hesitate!
On January 2nd we will be walking 150km from Newcastle to the SCG to honour those who have been affected by breast cancer, past and present.
Joined for the last 1km by 100’s of amazing people on January 5th, Day 1 of the iconic test match. A sea of pink!
