Ed's hair will be McGone for the McGrath foundation

Let's do our part for breast cancer

I'm fundraising to help make the lives of families experiencing breast cancer that little bit easier.

A breast cancer diagnosis can change your life in an instant and the impact can be felt right through your family and friends.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses and the foundation itself quiet literally saved my mums life and she is now thriving living to her fullest. As it runs in the family (and about 10% of Australian families) I want to try and help as many families as they did mine!

My Updates

Back story

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer around the same age as my grandma passed away from beast cancer (bless her soul). We never had much money therefore paying for the medical procedures and such seemed impossible until the McGrath Foundation truly saved her life. Payed for pretty much the entirety of the surgeries, procedures and such to beat it and recover and now she's back out into the wild. Working, living her life the way she wants too and I can never be more grateful to still have her today.

Roughly 10% of australian families suffer from hereditary breast cancer (sadly mine is in that percentage) and roughly 1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and About 1 in 700 men are diagnosed in their lifetime. This year alone over 3000 people have passed away already because of it, approximately 20,000 people are diagnosed with BC each year and it slowly rises. I truly want everyone possible to have the same fighting chance my mum did and the chance to live and kick its ass like she did.
So I decided to start start this fundraiser purely inspired by my mums battle andd struggle through it

For all that don't know me and do know me, I've been growing my hair since late 2016/2017 and have refused to cut it simply because I love my long hair, but I love the fact my mums alive even more so I've decided to start this fundraiser in hopes to help gather some donations to give to the the foundation so they can help families just like mine. On November the 2nd (my mums 51st birthday) the fundraiser will end and I will cut it off, and if it's healthy and long enough it will go to wigs for kids or a foundation of the sorts to help many more people that need it.
It doesn't take much. 10 cents, 10 dollars, even 1 dollar! to help raise enough to train nurses and extend their reach to more families that are suffering etc

I'm not trying to beg or lure you in with some sappy story, I'm telling you the facts and truth. If you don't want to or can't donate that's okay, even your support to share this post is enough for me to try and make a difference to at least one person who endures the pain of thinking they won't be able to make it long enough to see their family the next day
