In Memory of Aldo Cantori

By Alex Cantori

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, babar and friend.

He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and take comfort in the memories we have shared. His love and legacy will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the McGrath Foundation.

Aldo was in and out of wakefulness during the pink test, but nothing was going to stop him watching this time. He had umpired Sam as a 14 year old and declared then “that kid will play for Australia one day” It seemed fitting that as cricket had played such a huge part of our lives that an important match such as the Pink Test should be his last. Thank you Australian Cricket.

Burwood Briars Cricket

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Aldo Cantori, a legendary Briar and an extraordinary person. Aldo's journey with the Briars began in 1976, when he played a pivotal role in shaping the club's legacy. In 1977, he was instrumental in the vision to sponsor and coach the Croydon Junior Cricket Club, a move that significantly contributed to the development of the club. This initiative led to many prominent players joining the senior club in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
