Let's do our part for breast cancer

My Updates

What been happening......

So since this time last year I  completed my chemotherapy in late November,  once I finished I started on an injection called zoladex that I have every 4 weeks, this shuts down my ovaries from producing the hormones that my type of cancer grew from.
I had a few weeks break and  then started radiation in mid December. I was very fortunate throughout my radiation to have minimal impact,  I had radiation daily for six weeks.
Once I completed radiation  I started taking a tablet daily called exemestane, this also helps prevent the hormones being produced in my body which helps to prevent my cancer returning if it is at all still dormant in my body.
The side effect I have from the injection are similar to those of menopause and the the tablet side effects are joint pain which I mainly get in my hands and is at its works on the mornings, I am however starting to feel a difference in my knees and elbows etc.

I hope by sharing this you can see that even though the main part of my treatment is over the path is long with lots of other obstacles that will continue to pop up!
The breast care nurses are still available to me if I need them and are only a call away so I appreciate your help with this cause that is very special to me
