GLENN VISITS WALBUNDRIE
What a fantastic day we had for our Pink stumps day on Sunday February 24th this year.
A great game of cricket was layed n good spirits withour neighbourng town Henty to raise fund for the Mcgrath Foundation - Breast Care Nurses.
After winning the competion "Why would you like Glen to attend yourPink Stumps Day" we swung into gear to promote what was going to turn out to be a huge family day for our little community. Around 600 people attended with much excitement at seeing the Great Man himself Glenn "Pigeon" McGrath.
We had face painting and a juming castle for the kids, BBQ, Colouring competition and cricket for our littlies conducted by Robbie Mackinlay from Cricet NSW and his team. A superb range of "Pink" morning and afternoon tea was on hand and everyone involved had a great day.
Glenn helped out with our major auctions and raffles which the locals thought was amazing. His true down to earth Aussie boy from the bush was on show for everyone as he took pictures, signed memorabilia and even bowled an over for our cricketers.
I cannot thank Glenn and his amazing team for coming to our event and helping us raise a much needed $28,397.60
Come join in the fun and support our Pink Stumps day - fundraising for special care nurses and raising awareness at the same time.
We're holding a Pink Stumps Day to help make life that little bit easier for individuals and families experiencing breast cancer.
A breast cancer diagnosis changes your life, often in ways you wouldn’t expect. The impact can be felt right through your family and friends. As much as you try, the diagnosis, the treatment and the disease can take over your life.
McGrath Breast Care Nurses bring you and your family peace of mind through expert knowledge, personal care and genuine compassion. They can help you create time in your life not defined by breast cancer.
That's why I'd love your support in Pinking Up and fundraising to help place specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses, wherever they're needed.
Come along for a fun day and stay for a BBQ later where the kids can enjoy a few games and the jumping castle.
Together, we can make a difference!
