Let's do our part for breast cancer
My family and myself are fundraising for breast cancer because of our very personal experience. On 9th February 2015 I received the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer at the age of 42. Within the space of 3 days I had received my diagnosis, discussed options with the surgeon and had a mastectomy. There was no time to think about anything. I was very fortunate to have access to a private hospital who had their own private breast care nurse. Kerri was amazing as she helped to answer all of my questions and provided my family and myself with amazing support post surgery. All breast cancer patients need that qualified professional to support them through the rollercoaster ride that is diagnosis, surgery and treatment, whether they are public or private patients.
