In memory of someone special
For 35 years, Eugenia was a volunteer presenter of the Greek program on 4EB radio in Brisbane.
A woman with the vitality and energy of someone 30 years younger. But sometimes life throws you the unexpected and Eugenia found herself being admitted to the Mater Hospital for treatment after being diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. She was very grateful to the nursing staff for their professional services and wanted to let everyone know of the wonderful work the nurses do every day for cancer patients like her.
The compassionate care she received from the nurses in the cancer ward eased her pain and brought some comfort to her in her final weeks. It was also a very difficult time for the family and the nurses helped to navigate the challenges that cancer diagnosis and treatment of a loved one brings.
Sadly she passed away at age 88.
