Help me raise funds to ensure that no one misses out on care.
If you know anything about me, it’s that I enjoy long walks. REALLY long walks, that involve raising money for the McGrath Foundation’s breast care nurses. This year I’m joining The Big Three Trek as we walk 60kms from the Central Coast to Newcastle raising much needed funds along the way.
Breast cancer affects many. It doesn’t discriminate. No one should have to go through cancer alone or without much needed support. For a disease that causes many challenges for many families, so we’re walking to make sure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.
I know all too well the life changing impact Breast Cancer can have on one’s family. At just 26 years of age, my sister in law was diagnosed with breast cancer. A healthy young woman, with no family history, her diagnosis changed our world in ways we could not ever have imagined. However, despite her battle - one that was long and hard, she fought, she was fierce and she beat it. A true warrior and survivor.
In 2021 we tragically lost my wife’s cousin in law to Breast Cancer. She was young with her whole life ahead of her.
I’ll be walking for them.
I’ve seen first hand the vital support the McGrath Foundation’s Breast Care nurses are able to give & how much they help during such difficult times. The more nurses we have, the more help they can give.
